ATTENTION HENDERSON COUNTY 8TH GRADERS!

STUDENTS ARE INSTRUCTED TO WRITE A ONE-ACT PLAY WITH 5 (OR FEWER) CHARACTERS THAT TAKES PLACE IN A SINGLE LOCATION. SCRIPTS SHOULD BE:

NO LONGER THAN 8-10 PAGES
TYPED
FONT: TIMES NEW ROMAN
SIZE 12 POINT

Students should read through the LETTER TO FINAL JUDGES to have an idea of what the judges are looking for, and print a copy of the COVER SHEET and attach it to their script. Scripts must be submitted to the School Contact (listed below) by February 5th or whenever they tell you!. The School Contact will forward the five best scripts from your school to the final panel of judges at the Playhouse by February 12th, 2010.

The Winning Entry will be performed as a five minute play before each YouTheatre Spring Show performance and receives a $300 cash prize and a Plan B Season Pass to the Playhouse.

Second Place receives a $200 cash prize and a Plan B Season Pass.
Third Place receives a $100 cash prize and a Plan B Season Pass.
When possible, Flat Rock Playhouse will offer the playwrights a chance to work with mentor-playwrights to further develop their scripts and receive feedback.
