GENERAL SESSION INFO

CAMPS WILL BE HELD AT THE NEW ROBIN R. FARQUHAR YOUTHEATRE EDUCATION CAMPUS

Please select a camp based on rising grade level (2008-09 academic years).  ONLY THE BOARDING CAMP (Rising 8th-12th graders) IS A SLEEP-OVER CAMP.  Camps involve theatre training appropriate to grade-level.  All theatre training allows for a range of experience levels within the same camp.   Each camp will perform an informal "sharing" at the end of their camp week for family & friends.

We will send you a confirmation email/letter ASAP after we receive your enrollment—please pay close attention to the details of your camp —especially the time! Note: You may need to check your bulk folder as the flatrockplayhouse.org address sometimes ends up there!

FYI-We cannot fill-out the registration form for you over the phone because there is a section requiring a Parent/Guardian signature. Please complete the form and mail or fax it to us.

YouTheatre Flat Rock Playhouse, PO Box 310, Flat Rock, NC  28731

Fax #  828.693-3518

Tuition refunds (less a $30 non-refundable fee) will be given only with notification of withdrawal at least two weeks prior to your camp's start date. No refunds can be made after your camp begins.

A limited number of full and partial scholarships for low-income families are available for all camps except the Boarding Camp.  Please complete a "Scholarship Form" & submit it WITH your class registration form.  Scholarship requests have to be submitted each session.  All scholarship recipients are expected to be dedicated students (attending classes consistently, doing homework, coming prepared to classes, participating in rehearsals and performances) and will be asked to write a thank you note by the end of the class session.

SPECIALTY CAMPS

ONE-WEEK BOARDING CAMP AT GREEN RIVER PRESERVE!

FULL!

"Movement for the Actor:  Mime, Character, and Ensemble."  The actors will methodically explore how to expand and enhance movement patterns in order to improve non-verbal communication from the stage.  We'll include mime, mime technique, composition, ensemble building, character building and more:  all using a movement-based approach.

 When: JULY 20-24

Rising 8th-12th grade students with an interest in drama can join a team of teachers at the pristine Green River Preserve from JULY 20-24 for an exceptional learning experience.   Our focus is ensemble development and the individual student’s artistic growth—we are not a typical Musical Theatre camp.  The natural surroundings act as a catalyst for creative growth and the exploration of core drama principles.  With FIVE DAYS of intensive training, product and performance are not the ultimate goals—self-discovery, inner motivation and directed collaboration are the life-affirming objectives.
